Dr. Jones is an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist and ACE recipient with over 25 years experience. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Deaf Education and Elementary Education from Converse College. Dr. Jones completed her Masters in Speech Pathology (M.S.P.) and her Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Jones spent her first 5 years as a speech-language pathologist working with adult and pediatric populations in the hospital in-patient, out-patient and in-home settings. She worked with a variety of disabilities including, head-neck cancer, stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), dysphagia, receptive and expressive language disorders and hearing impaired. She ventured into private practice in January of 2001 by founding Therapeutic Interventions of Georgia, Inc., which has grown exponentially. Dr. Jones primarily works with children who have oral-motor, feeding and swallowing impairments. She has extensive training with cochlear implants, sensory disorders and feeding problems.
Dr. Jones is one of only 2 speech pathologists in the world who have earned Board Certification in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders and Certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment. She earned her BCS-S in 2008 through her extensive training and experience in the field of dysphagia and her C/NDT in 2015 through 8 months of weekly training and education. She was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina for 6 years where she taught Adult and Child Dysphagia. She retired from teaching to grow her practice, develop continuing education courses and complete the 2nd edition of her book.
In 2006, Dr. Jones founded The Foundation for Therapeutic Options, currently named the Augusta Therapy Academy, which is a foundation that raises funds to pay for therapy for children throughout the CSRA. The Augusta Therapy Academy has funded over $500,000 worth of therapy services over the past 11 years since it's inception. 2018 will be a year that is focused on starting an inclusive and integrated school for children with special educational and medical needs. Dr. Jones is a lecturer in Pediatric Dysphagia for Ciao Seminars, Inc. She also created a local conference on interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders titled the "Eatin' Meetin.'"

Dr. Jones resides in North Augusta, South Carolina with her husband, Dr. Gordon Jones. They have a heart for children with special needs and have adopted 5 children with a variety of medical, emotional and intellectual needs. Their four youngest children are still living at home and filling Jennifer and Gordon's lives with challenges and blessings on a daily basis. They are also delighted to be grandparents of Penelope. They are an active family with involvement in their church, Lakeside Baptist, and many athletic endeavors.
